SCG’s 9M/2026 Adjusted Cash EBITDA Grows 19%;
SCGC and GC Plan a Joint Venture to Create One of the World’s Top 10 Polyolefins Producers
and Strengthen Thailand’s Industrial Competitiveness;
SCG Moves Ahead with Strategic Projects and Expands in Vietnam

29 October 2026 – SCG announced its operating results for Q3/2026 and the first nine months of 2026, with Adjusted Cash EBITDA for 9M/2026 of 57,357 MB, up 19% from the same period last year. The improvement was driven by sustained push to restructure its businesses and enhance competitiveness. Despite higher global energy prices amid geopolitical tensions, SCG maintained its financial strength, with net debt decreasing by 42,656 MB from Q4/2025. The company continued to enhance internal management efficiency and implement timely measures to respond to changing circumstances. SCG recently announced plans to combine SCGC’s and GC’s olefins and polyolefins businesses in Thailand to elevate the global competitiveness of the Thai petrochemical industry. The combination will bring together their strengths across the value chain and advance innovation and High Value-Added Products (HVA), with the joint venture expected to be established in H2/2027. Meanwhile, all business units are improving production efficiency through AI & Robotics and increasing the proportion of clean energy used to build resilience against energy volatility. In addition, ASEAN construction-materials and packaging markets across ASEAN, particularly Vietnam, continued to grow.

Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, said, “2026 has been one of the challenging tests for businesses, marked by geopolitical tensions, trade wars, volatile energy prices, and a global economic slowdown. Nevertheless, SCG has accelerated its business transformation to build strength and support long-term growth in three key areas: 1) strengthening the business by bringing SCGC and GC together to elevate the petrochemical industry’s global competitiveness, while accelerating the ethane project in Vietnam, and expanding the Low Carbon Cement Platform across ASEAN; 2) strengthening its financial position through continued reductions in net debt; and 3) improving efficiency across ASEAN through AI & Robotics.” As a result, SCG’s 9M/2026 results improved compared with the same period last year: Adjusted Cash EBITDA was 57,357 MB, up 19% year-on-year. Profit for the period was 20,143 MB, up 13%. Excluding inventory revaluation adjustments and other adjustment items, Adjusted Profit was 14,437 MB, an increase of 8,831 MB, while the total revenue from sales was 382,236 MB, up 3%.

In Q3/2026, SCG recorded Adjusted Cash EBITDA of 14,444 MB, profit for the period of 2,385 MB, and revenue from sales of 122,666 MB. Net debt decreased by 42,656 MB from Q4/2025. The net debt-to-EBITDA ratio continued to decline to 3.6 times. Cash on hand at the end of Q3/2026 stood at 75,147 MB.

SCG Chemicals (SCGC) announced plans to combine its olefins and polyolefins businesses in Thailand with GC. The combination is expected to generate approximately US$150–200 million in additional annual synergies and aims to strengthen Thailand’s petrochemical industry, with the ambition of becoming one of the world’s 10 largest polyolefins producers. The planned combination will bring together their strengths in production bases, feedstock flexibility, the development of HVA products, technology and innovation, as well as global customer and market networks. The aim is to create a larger and stronger business that supports downstream industries in Thailand and build resilience against industry volatility and external challenges over the long term. Meanwhile, Rayong Olefins Company (ROC) resumed operations in mid-September 2026 following a temporary shutdown due to the situation in the Middle East. SCGC is also accelerating the ethane feedstock enhancement project at the Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP) complex in Vietnam, which is expected to reduce costs by more than US$250 million per year. Completion is expected in mid-2027, ahead of schedule.

Under the One CBM approach, Cement and Building Materials Business increased cross-category sales by 22% year-on-year. The approach reduces duplication and promotes resource sharing, enabling cost and expense savings of more than 1,000 MB within 2026. Alternative fuels (AF) accounted for 25%–35%, improving cost flexibility.

Packaging Business (SCGP) built on the recovery of its operations in Indonesia and integrated its production network to improve resource utilization. It also continued to expand opportunities in Vietnam and India to strengthen its market presence and support continued growth.

In response to flooding in several areas, SCG and the SCG Foundation worked with group businesses and partner networks to provide timely assistance to affected communities. Support included community kitchens, ready-to-eat meals, drinking water, medicines, and essential supplies, as well as paper toilets, paper field beds, and blankets for evacuation centers. SCGC provided high-quality floating pontoons from its SCGC Floating Solar Solution. The floats were adapted into rescue rafts and floating walkways to transport food, daily necessities, and other essential supplies to hard-to-reach areas. SCGP deployed its volunteer Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) to assist communities. SCG also provided discounts on building materials to help reduce the cost of post-flood home repairs.

Thammasak concluded, “In 2027, SCG aims to build on its ongoing business transformation to deliver tangible results. We will continue restructuring our businesses while advancing strategic initiatives, including bringing SCGC and GC together to elevate the petrochemical industry’s global competitiveness, the ethane feedstock enhancement project at LSP in Vietnam, and the expansion of the Low Carbon Cement Platform across ASEAN.  We will also improve production efficiency across ASEAN through AI & Robotics. We are confident these efforts will help us navigate challenges and further strengthen our businesses over the long term.”
